As you’re preparing your table for company this weekend and you are looking for the perfect blend of form and function — we have you covered! This Thanksgiving centrepiece is great because, not only is it festive, but it can work for tables long or short, leaves room for the food and dishes on the table and, best of all, you can see over it! This is always something that is a huge challenge with larger or taller centrepieces.
We got the idea for this centrepiece because we had a ton of fresh cut flowers. Don’t be shy to dive into festive colours since they’re always so beautiful and eye-catching, and contrast the orange pumpkins.

We bought 5 pumpkins from the local store (they were on sale for $1.99 per pumpkin) and we just hollowed them out like you would to carve a jack-o-lantern. This took a while, but it’s an activity the kids can get involved in to help with dinner preparations and keep them out of your hair!

Once they were pretty clean on the inside (not perfect but good enough is all we’re shooting for here), we gave them a wipe and filled them with water. Then began the fun as we started arranging the flowers.

We had to cut the flowers pretty short to make a really full little bunch in each pumpkin, but we used all of our fresh cut flowers and five was the perfect number of bouquets for our table.

And voila! Just like that we had a tablescape that is bound to impress our guests this weekend, making a festive celebration even more warm and inviting.

As real estate professionals, we strive to match our clients with properties that give them the space to gather with family and friends for holidays and other special moments in their lives. Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving, from our table to yours.
